Being a Psychology Professor, I understand the importance of teaching our children kindness and compassion. It seems like something that we should all just "get." But sadly, we don't all "get it". Our children are so malleable, that when these values are taught in a fun and exciting way., these lessons stick. Project Goodness does just that. I am a big believer of what you and this program are doing for our younger generation! Good luck!

There are so many incredible ideas, but I voted for Veggie Vouchers because it helps struggling families stay healthy & local farmers in business. That's a win-win!

My son had an amazing experience with Project Goodness! I really think that we need to make this program a mandatory part of the curriculum! They were able to get a hands on experience of what it means to be a philanthropist (and my 10 year old even knows how to spell that word now!) With the help of Project Goodness my son and his class were able to send a young boy in Kenya to school for an entire year! They learned all about his Maasai tribe and culture, and even had a pen pal experience with him. We need to open up the eyes of our children to the possibility that they can make a difference. Even if it's just a little bit at a time--it truly does all add up! (Mrs. Alli teaches our kids this and many other valuable lessons). Until we can get PG as a mandatory part of our curriculum, I am asking on behalf of many wonderful parents out there for your one vote to help keep this program in our schools! One vote, one click, may make all the difference as we continue to inspire our children to make a difference!

This program is particularly powerful for students who never found a niche in school. With Breakaway, they learn to create their own niche while fixing problems in their communities!

Project Goodness is such an important part of our class curriculum now! Please support this idea so that we can continue to teach our children the lessons and values of kindness, goodness, and compassion in our school setting. It's so nice to have a program that comes in and brings so much to our classroom! The students LOVE Project Goodness! Please use your vote for Project Goodness!

The Teranga Ranch idea with the iguana lizard picture...this is not just a GOOD idea for our community, it's a GREAT idea!...50 local schools(1500 children) win an 'on site' free field trip!! I can't think of any better idea than to have a biology/science LAUSD teacher-led group visit my child's school and bring animals they've only seen on TV. This is an amazing opportunity for the schools if this group wins! Thanks GOOD for having the contest!

Please support PROJECT GOODNESS! My son had Project Goodness in his class recently, and I can't even find the words to express how vital this program is to our children. Teachers have an incredibly full load of curriculum heavy material, and therefore don't always have the time to bring the ideas of philanthropy and compassion into the classroom. Sometimes busy parents (guilty) don't always find the time either. Project Goodness teaches our children core lessons and values in goodness-- something we all take for granted. Please support and vote for this project! And my son, Lee, wants me to write, Mrs. Alli is cool too!

According to "F as in Fat: How Obesity Threatens America's Future, 2011,” childhood obesity rates have tripled since 1980. While the consequences of youth obesity have been well-documented, less information exists on the effects on overweight and obese youth as they become adults. Adults who are overweight and obese as children tend to stay so as adults and is considered to be the primary threat to mental and emotional health.
